I don't actually; good suggestion. I'm trying to keep it somewhat around the theme of sentient fantasy races, so I'm avoiding crossing a line of going too far into alien monsters...
But I do have an eldritch race type with some alien stuff in it, so maybe I'll throw bio-swarm organism into that category.>>79729546
Current idea for the plot is that a new fantasy world is being created, and you'll be one of its creators. Your first task is to create one of the races that will be filling it.
I have a few different ideas of how I want to flesh out the world, but I'm still searching for the sweet spot between having established lore of a world that you add something to, vs giving the player a lot more freedom to shape it.
I think what I'm going to do, is add a few different worlds to pick from similar to how Dawn of a Demon Lord 1.3 does it. You get semi-established worlds with some lore to drop into, but you can also pick a setting that fits your race/plans.>>79729560
Natural teleportation feels like it's too much in the domain of spellcasting rather than supernatural traits. The metal thing too. If metal is melting, or vibrating out of existence in my presence, then that's more like an active spell ability draining mana than a racial quirk. Godzilla laser is also a bit much for a race ability, but I do have dragon's breath. Similar function but less OP.
No "neoteny" option specifically, but I already have it in mind. There will be options to build that with smaller size, cuter features, development speed, etc.
